Breaking the "One-Way" Rule in Salesforce
Subtitle: Why London’s Top Charity Consultancies are Moving from Accounts Back to Leads
In the standard Salesforce playbook, the journey is linear: a Lead becomes a Contact, and you never look back. But for high-touch UK charity consultancies, reality is more nuanced. Every new project—even with a long-standing partner—is a fresh opportunity that deserves rigorous qualification.
The Challenge: The Manual "Reverse" Bottleneck
One of our London-based clients found themselves stuck in a manual data-entry loop. They needed to treat new engagements from existing clients with the same process as brand-new business. Manually copying data from an Account or Contact record back into a New Lead was not only time-consuming but prone to "copy-paste" fatigue.
The Zon Projects Solution: The "Pre-Flight" Screen Flow
Instead of a clunky manual process, we built a bespoke Salesforce Screen Flow that allows consultants to "Create Lead" directly from an Account record.
Intelligent Choice: Users can instantly choose to link an existing Contact or create a new one on the fly.
Data Integrity: We designed a "verification screen" that pulls existing data into the Flow, allowing the user to check and update details before the Lead record is ever committed.
Pragmatic Design: By allowing the Flow to bypass initial duplicate rules, we ensured the consultancy’s momentum wasn't stalled by red-tape errors. The "clean-up" happens at the point of conversion—keeping the pipeline moving when it matters most.
The Result
A sleek, modern UI that looks great out of the box and turns a five-minute chore into a thirty-second breeze. For our client, it means better data, a clearer pipeline, and more time spent on what they do best: supporting the charity sector.
